How Anzen is helping brokers compress time-to-quote and operate at the speed of today’s market.
Insurance brokers are no strangers to complexity. But even in an industry accustomed to friction, the submit-quote-bind process has become a breaking point. Disconnected carrier portals, legacy agency management systems, endless re-keying of data, and inboxes full of unstructured emails have left commercial brokers spending more time managing workflow and running down invoices than advising clients.
Anzen is built to change that.
As an AI-native enterprise software platform, Anzen positions itself as a “System of Execution” for insurance distribution — sitting at the center of brokerage workflows to automate submissions, quoting, binding, and servicing end-to-end. For brokers, the outcome is simple and material: faster quotes, less manual work, and the ability to scale revenue without scaling headcount.
“Insurance distribution is one of the last major enterprise verticals still running on workflow software built for a pre-AI world,” says Max Bruner, Founder and CEO of Anzen. “The gap between what technology can do and what brokers are actually supported by today is enormous, and that’s exactly where we like to build.”
Built from the Inside Out
Unlike many insurtech startups that approach insurance from the outside, Anzen began as a tech-enabled brokerage. Before becoming a pure software company, the team processed more than 50,000 real submissions, connected to over 150 carriers, served 400-plus agencies, and handled more than $500 million in premium.
That experience wasn’t incidental; it was intentional.
“We didn’t theorize the pain. We lived it,” Bruner explains. “We knew where time was lost, where deals died, and where revenue leaked — not from interviews, but from operating inside the workflow every day.”
That immersion shaped what ultimately became Anzen Pro, the company’s flagship platform. In January 2026, Anzen sold off its brokerage operations to focus entirely on scaling its enterprise software — a move that leveraged years of real-world data and operational insight.
What Anzen Delivers for Brokers
At its core, Anzen Pro is an AI-powered submission, quoting, binding, and servicing workflow engine designed specifically for commercial brokerages. It automates and orchestrates the entire policy lifecycle that brokers already manage manually across emails, spreadsheets, carrier portals, and legacy systems.
Key capabilities include:
- Automated ingestion and triage of submission data
- AI-driven email triage for inbound deals and servicing requests
- Intelligent routing of submissions to the right carriers
- Streamlined quoting across carrier portals, APIs, and underwriter emails
- Integration and automated data entry into legacy AMS platforms and BPO workflows
- Tracking, orchestration, and automation of bind and post-bind process
- Fully auditable quoting and policy lifecycle tracking and reporting
All this happens inside a single interface that brokers adopt quickly without ripping out existing systems, and the impact is measurable: Anzen customers have seen average time-to-quote drop from 12 days to two days or less, more than 90% of submissions and quotes run through the platform after go-live, and over 50% of manual workflows are automated within the first month.
“For a brokerage, faster quoting means more revenue per producer, higher close rates, and stronger client retention,” Bruner says. “It also means you can take on submission volume that previously would’ve been turned away.”
More Than Automation
What differentiates Anzen from both legacy AMS vendors and newer point-solution insurtech tools is its architecture and philosophy.
Legacy systems were built for a different era, Bruner notes — optimized for recordkeeping, not execution, and constrained by closed ecosystems and slow modernization cycles. Meanwhile, many AI tools automate a single slice of the workflow but don’t integrate meaningfully into how brokerages operate end-to-end.
“Anzen Pro is modern AI and software that works on top of or independently of a brokerage’s existing infrastructure,” Bruner says. “It’s an open API, AI-native system designed to improve continuously as it learns from each brokerage’s data.”
Equally important is how Anzen is deployed. The company takes a forward-deployed engineering approach, embedding deeply with clients to configure the platform and act as a technical partner long after implementation.
“We don’t sell software and disappear,” Bruner explains. “For enterprise brokerages, adoption is everything. Being present and accountable is the difference between a tool that changes how you work and one that sits unused.”
Enterprise Validation and Early Momentum
That approach is already yielding results. In Q1 2026 — just two months after formally launching as a software-only company — Anzen signed its first top 30 U.S. brokerage customer. These were not pilots, but full enterprise-grade deployments.
One notable implementation involved a high-volume national brokerage where Anzen helped reduce time-to-quote by more than 80% within the first month. Over 90% of quotes moved through the platform, BPO spend was dramatically reduced, and operational teams shifted focus from data entry to client service.
“That kind of impact changes how an organization thinks about growth,” says Bruner. “It’s not incremental improvement — it’s a fundamental shift in the operating model.”
Partnering with BrokerTech Ventures
As Anzen shifted from operating a tech-enabled brokerage to scaling an enterprise software platform, access to the right brokerage partners became increasingly important. That evolution led the company to join the BTV accelerator.
According to Bruner, BTV stood out not just for its network, but for the caliber of engagement within it. The accelerator connects startups with sophisticated brokerages that understand the operational realities of insurance distribution and are willing to engage thoughtfully with new technology. Those conversations have helped Anzen sharpen both its product and its go-to-market approach. Rather than surface-level interest, BTV partners engage deeply by asking detailed questions and offering feedback rooted in real workflows, constraints, and priorities. That input has directly informed how Anzen continues to develop and deploy Anzen Pro within complex brokerage environments.
From Anzen’s perspective, BTV functions as a forward-looking convener by bringing together brokers and technology builders who are aligned around modernizing how insurance distribution actually operates.
What’s Next for Anzen
Near-term, Anzen is focused on expanding existing enterprise partnerships and increasing adoption across top 50 brokerages. The company is also launching a new self-service, AI-powered carrier portal quoting solution designed for SMB and middle-market agencies along with an agentic binding system.
The long-term vision is more ambitious.
“Anzen Pro is the system of execution for insurance distribution,” Bruner says. “Every agency deserves its own version of a Bloomberg Terminal — intelligently co-piloting front and back-office work so teams can spend more time with clients and less time managing systems.”
For brokers, that future means reclaiming time, improving margins, and competing more effectively in an increasingly fast-moving market. For Anzen, the next milestone is clear: seeing double-digit adoption across the BTV community — a signal that the platform is delivering exactly what brokers need next.
